Technical Tip: Configuring SSID in FortiGate as open security

Description	This article describes how to set the SSID Security to open.
Scope	FortiGate, FortiAP.
Solution	When configuring SSID to security mode as open. The option will not show in GUI and it needs to be configured from CLI. The 'Open' security mode can be enabled only from cli. As shown below, there is no option to choose security as an option. To enable that, follow the below steps. Go to System -> Settings -> Feature Visibility -> Enable the toggle for Wireless Open Security. Configure as below on the CLI: config wireless-contoller vap     edit <SSID_NAME>         set security open end
