Description

This article describes that the CLI command can be used to collect diagnostic information about WAD high memory issue. The output can be saved to a log file and reviewed when troubleshooting.

It is important to run this command when the issue is present.

Scope FortiGate.
Solution

There are two steps to obtaining the report for the WAD daemon:

  1. Connect SSH session using any SSH client: This is mandatory because if the console option from the GUI was used, it will not be able to save all output as the amount of information returning from this command is massive.
  2. Run the command: on the command line run the following command and let the script run until complete. This will take a few seconds.

diagnose wad memory report

Note:

If the VDOM is enabled, run this command on the VDOM which has high WAD memory.

Once the log is collected, create a support ticket with Fortinet TAC for further checking.
