Technical Tip: Change password for FortiGate from FortiManager

Description

This article describes how to change the password for FortiGate from FortiManager.

Scope

FortiManager.

Solution

Go to Device Manager -> Device and Groups, and then double-click the entry to modify.

In this example, double-click 'FWF60E'.

Select Display Options.

On Display Options, select ' Customize', enable 'Administrators', then select 'OK'.

Go to Dashboard -> Administrators.

Choose the username to edit. In this example, select 'test' and select'Edit'.

After the password change, select 'OK'.

Go on Managed Fortigate, 'Config Status' will change as 'Modified'.

Go on Install -> Install Config.

Select 'OK'. 

Select 'Finish'.

The Config Status will show Synchronized. After that, login to FortiGate using new password.
