Description

This article describes how to allow Gmail or Yahoo Mail while blocking the upload of any attachments.

Scope

FortiGate 6.4, 7.0+.

Solution

This can be achieved using the Application Control Security Profile.
Below are the signatures which can be added to the Application control profile in order to block attachment uploads from Gmail and Yahoo, respectively:

Gmail_Attachment.Upload.
Yahoo.Mail_Attachment.Upload.

Note: The above would work as expected only with Deep Inspection.

This will block the upload of attachments to Gmail and Yahoo but allow access to both email services.
