This article describes some Agent-based FSSO Reboot Scenarios.

Scope

FortiGate.

Solution

Fresh Installation:
- Standalone Domain Controller (DC Agent) installation: Mandatory reboot.
- Standalone Collector Agent (CA Agent) installation: No reboot.
- Mixed DC and CA installation: Mandatory reboot.

Uninstallation:
- DC Agent: Reboot required but can be delayed.
- Standalone CA: No reboot.

Upgrade:
- Standalone CA: No reboot.
- DC Agent (Method 1: from CA):
  - 1st reboot to uninstall the old build (or rename dcagent.dll manually to not reboot).
  - 2nd reboot to install the new build.
- DC Agent (Method 2: standalone .exe): Reboot.
- Mixed CA and DC Agent: Reboot required to upgrade DC agent.
