Description

This article describes how Admintimeout is not working as expected sometimes for GUI if value > 5.

Scope

FortiGate v7.2.

Solution

Issue:

When FortiGate set up the below settings, GUI was not able to log out after timeout (5 minutes).

config system global
set admintimeout 5
end

Troubleshooting:

get system admin list
username local device vdom profile remote started
XXX https port1:x.x.x.x:443 root super_admin y.y.y.y:54838 2024-11-03 15:35:10

After login GUI

After login GUI by xxx and without any move from GUI (idle) after 5mins, CLI output should not show username xxx record as above.

Solution:

Upgrade to firmware 7.4.5, v7.6.0 or above.
