Description This article describes how to activate FortiToken Mobile without Email or SMS.
Scope

FortiGate v6.4, v7.0, v7.2, v7.4, v7.6.0-v7.6.3

Solution
  1. On the CLI, run the following commands:

 

diagnose debug reset

diagnose debug application alertmail -1

diagnose debug enable

 

  1. In this example, a local user is used. Create a user and assign it a token as such. The built-in Trial Fortitokens that comes with every FortiGate is used in this case.

  1. After selecting Ok, an email will be sent, or in this case, an attempt to be made to send it. In the alert mail debug, the activation code required can be seen in the area circled in Red. Using this, activate the FortiToken in the FortiToken Mobile application.

  1. Open the FortiToken Mobile application on the Mobile Device and follow the steps below:

Note:

The activation code will no longer be available in the alertmail debug and obfuscated in the system event from v7.6.3 onwards:
