Description

This article highlights a compatibility issue when using the AVAGO AFBR-709ASMZ SFP with the FCTRL-5103B.

Scope

FortiController supporting Fiber SFP-SR.

Solution

When using the FortiController FCTRL-5103B with SFP from AVAGO AFBR-709ASMZ, the physical port of the FortiController will remain UP even if the physical cable is unplugged.

AVAGO AFBR-709ASMZ are sold under reference FG-TRAN-SFP+SR, it is recommended to order the FS-TRAN-SFP+SR instead.

SFP FINISAR FTLX8571D3BCV is compatible with the FCTRL-5103B.
