Description
This article explains how to discover Google Chromecast application between two VLANS enabling multicast communication between them.

Scope
Multicast communication between two VLANs.

Solution
1) Enable multicast policy to allow multicast traffic from Chromecast device and any PC in different VLANs (PC-clients net).

Config  > Features > Multicast Policy  (ON)

2) Add new address for VLAN for PC-clients net.

Policy & Objects > Objects > Addresses > Create new address  (add VLAN for PC-clients).

3) Add new multicast address for Chromecast device.

Chromecast uses multicast address 239.255.255.250 port 1900 UDP for receiving request from clients.

4) Create policy to permit multicast traffic from the VLAN of the PC-clients to the VLAN of the Chromecast device.

Policy & Objects > Policy > Multicast
Incoming interface: Interface VLAN PC-clients
Source address: VLAN PC-clients
Outgoing interface: Interface VLAN Chromecast
Destination Address: Chromecast device (multicast address)
Enable SNAT

5) Chromecast application must be discovered in any device of PC-clients net that are in a different VLAN to that of the Chromecast device.
