Description

 

This article explains how to access the FortiCloud management portal and how to remove data from storage after the maximum storage quota has been reached.


Scope

 

FortiGate, FortiCloud (FAMS) portal.


Solution

 

Consider the following scenario: Since activating and using a FortiCloud (FAMS) account, emails have provided reports on the activity and usage of the FortiGate device. At some point however, no Web usage report is received for one of the registered devices. On the dashboard under 'License Information' under 'FortiCloud' (FAMS), the storage quota is shown to have has reached the 1GB capacity. This needs further investigation.


To access the FortiCloud (FAMS) portal:
• Go to System -> Dashboard -> Status -> License Information -> FortiCloud (FAMS) -> Account.

The following message will be presented.

100% storage quota of FGT60C3G12005279 has been used! Logs are no longer being sent from your FortiGate or FortiWiFi. Please delete some data or subscribe to the service.

On the dashboard tab, select the device that has exceeded the quota by viewing the 'device' widget.
If the device widget is not viewable, it may be added to the dashboard with the following.

 

  • Select the edit icon to the right of the device name -> Add Widgets -> System Widgets -> Device Widgets.
  • The widget will appear at the bottom of the dashboard. Optionally, drag it to the top if preferred.
  • In the Device Widget select the edit icon to the right of the device name.

  • Select Delete Data.
  • In the 'Delete Data' dialogue box that appears, enter the date from which to remove all data and time prior to. The calendar tool can be used to select a date and time.
    After, select Submit.

  • A confirmation prompt will be provided for the date selection. Select YES.
  • A notification that the update was successful will appear. Select Close.
  • Hover the mouse over the top bar of the Device Widget so the refresh button appears at the top right corner of the widget. Select Refresh.
  • The 'Used' column will be updated with the current amount of data in MB being used.
