| Description | This article describes the whitelist functionality in FortiGuard Antispam. |
| Scope | FortiGate. |
| Solution |
The FortiGuard AntiSpam (formerly SpamShield) service activated on a FortiGate unit checks IP addresses and/or URLs to detect spam email.
It is possible to whitelist specific IP addresses on a FortiGate unit so that email from these servers is not detected as spam.
For details, refer to the Fortinet Knowledge Base article AntiSpam Filter Order.
It is currently not possible to whitelist a specific domain name that is part of a URL on a FortiGate unit.
If a false-positive spam detection of a URL occurs, a request can be submitted to remove this entry from the FortiGuard AntiSpam database.
If a local whitelist feature for URLs is required, contact the reseller, distributor, or a Fortinet Sales representative to submit a Feature Request.
