Description

 

This article describes how to download logs from FortiGate Cloud.

 

Scope

 

FortiGate Cloud v25.

Solution

 

When FortiGate Cloud logging is enabled, download the log files from FortiGate Cloud.

  1. Log in to support.fortinet.com and select Services -> FortiGate Cloud

  2. Select the Serial Number and Device View.

  1. Select Logview and choose Traffic, Security, Events, or Others depending on which log type needs to be downloaded. The example below shows how to download Forward traffic logs.

  2. Select the period of logs to be downloaded and select Download.

The above option is only available for the paid FortiGate Cloud version; for the free version, the logs cannot be downloaded through log files. If the account is using a free license, below pop-up will come with a limitation on the free FortiGate Cloud account.

With the free version, the log files cannot be directly downloaded, so logs need to be downloaded manually with a limit of 2000 entries per download.

In FortiGate Cloud v25.2a and later:

For logs in CSV format, Select 'Export to CSV':

For logs in JSON format, select the gear icon in the column headings, select Export and select JSON:
