Description This article explains why a FortiGate device fails to send logs to its FortiCloud account (licensed), resulting in the FortiCloud status appearing as unreachable.

Solution

A FortiGate device provisioned under a FortiGate Cloud account using the Premium Portal Beta for log storage. This beta portal relies on the FortiAnalyzer Cloud backend for FortiGate Cloud log storage.

If the FortiCloud repeatedly displays the status 'Unreachable', even when:

  1. FortiCloud registration is successful.
  2. Port 514 is functioning correctly, and
  3. FortiGuard communications are operational.


It is possible to free upgrade to the new FortiGate Cloud portal through the Fortinet FortiCloud Team. This upgrade resolves issues where FortiCloud displays the status 'Unreachable' on FortiGate.
The new portal provides equivalent log storage features, is actively developed and supported, and replaces the Premium Portal Beta, which has concluded.
