IPv6 Static IP and PPPoE Connection with Vlan to ISP

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to achieve the following goal:

  • Configure a Fortigate 60E as a VPN gateway for my home network. (and possibly doing a site to site with my other home with another fortigate)

My ISP only provides a static ::/56 IPv6 (or a shared ipv4), so I'm forced to set everything up in IPv6.

I would like to:

  • Configure IPv6 on my WAN port, where the VPN will land, and then set up NAT64 to allow my internal network to funcion in IPv4.

Right now I'm stuck on the WAN configuration because my ISP provides connectivity via a VLAN with ID 835, and I'm not sure how to configure this on the Fortigate for ipv6.

To clarify: everything works correctly with IPv4:

I create a VLAN with ID 835 under the WAN1 port, activated PPPoE, and my ISP provides the IP correctly, allowing me to browse.

However, the same does not happen with IPv6.

My ISP provides only the following instructions for IPv6 configuration:

'For IPv6, make sure that the router supports the DHCPv6 protocol and enable Prefix Delegation for proper address assignment. An IPv6 /56 prefix (prefix delegation) is assigned.'

I should also mention that I have a MikroTik router, and after configuring it as suggested by the ISP, everything works fine. So, I exclude any issue on the ISP side.

(However, the MikroTik does not support NAT64, that is why i decided to switch to Fortigate.)

I'm willing to provide further information, i hope someone can help me.
