We have a pair of VM-04V FortiGates in HA hosted in Azure. We have a need to move from one Azure region to another. My thought is to pre-stage my subnets & load balancers in the new region, break HA & re-deploy one of the VMs in the new region. Does anyone have documentation, KB's, etc. on this?

You won’t find a one-click migration for FortiGate HA pairs across Azure regions, but your plan is on the right track. The recommended approach is to pre-stage the VNETs, subnets, UDRs, and load balancers in the target region, then deploy new FortiGate VMs there

Your approach is aligned with best practices since Azure doesn't support cross-region HA for FortiGate. Pre-staging subnets and load balancers in the new region before breaking the HA pair and redeploying is the recommended method. Just ensure configuration consistency and proper license handling during the migration process.
