Scope | FEX-201E v4.2.x and v7.x |
Solution |
1) FortiExtender console logs would show the following:
System networking mode changed: nat to ip-passthrough (capwap), vid0: 0 to 0, <conf_discovery_type 0, conf_network_mode 3, master 2, system mode 3>
Line 690: mount: mounting /dev/mtdblock13 on /var/log failed: Input/output error
2) This issue may occur due to flash corruption issue on the FortiExtender and this issue can be solved using the flash erase procedure using FortiExtender shell access. Log a FortiExtender ticket with Fortinet Support for assistance.
3) After implementing flash erase on the FortiExtender, set FortiGate static discovery on the FortiExtender CLI to discover and manage FortiExtender on the FortiGate:
# config system management
4) On FortiGate, ensure 'Security-Fabric' is enabled on the FortiGate interface where the FortiExtender is plugged and 'Authorize' the FortiExtender unit on FortiGate. |
The Fortinet Security Fabric brings together the concepts of convergence and consolidation to provide comprehensive cybersecurity protection for all users, devices, and applications and across all network edges.
