Description

This ARTICLE describes how to gather the 'fap-tech' result. This information is needed in order to identify, investigate, and troubleshoot different issues with FortiAPs.

Scope

FortiAPs managed by FortiEdge Cloud.

Solution

Important:

To use AP CLI Access, a valid 'FortiEdge Cloud Management for FortiAP' license is needed.

Step 1. Enter the network where the AP is deployed and go to Wireless -> Access Points -> Tools -> AP CLI Access:

Step 2: On the menu, select 'fap-tech' as the AP CLI Access and select 'Run'.

Select 'fap-tech'

Information will be gathered. Ensure the FortiAP remains online and reaches FortiEdge Cloud to complete the process.

Fetching information

Step 3: Once finished, the user can either copy the result to the clipboard or download a PDF file with the output. Share this information with TAC for analysis.
