Description This article describes different processes to update the collectors.
Scope FortiEDR Manager 5.x.
Solution

Method 1: Upgrading Collectors by Group.

This is the recommended way because. It permits to upgrade the collectors gradually.
It is recommended to create an upgrade group and to transfer collectors into that group. Once upgraded,  move it back to the original group.

It is also possible to do the upgrades in three phases:
- The first phase will be the least critical devices that can be upgraded and tested.
- The second phase can expand two more devices that are not critical
- The third and final phase would be for all collectors:

1)Log into the FortiEDR Manager environment.

2) Go to Administration -> Licensing.

3) Towards the bottom of the screen, the content section will be visible.

40 Select Update Collectors.

Method 2: Upgrading Collectors by MSI.

This method is efficient if there are not a lot of collectors to upgrade.
Use this method to push out the MSI with special software.
It is not recommended to use Group Policy because the MSI will need to be updated constantly.

1) Log into the FortiEDR Manager environment.

2) Go to Administration -> Licensing.

3) Towards the bottom of the screen, the content section will be visible.

4) Select Request Collector installer.
