Description

This article describes the process of how to relocate the licenses from one organization to another.

Scope FortiEDR Central Manager 5.x.
Solution
  1. Log in to the FortiEDR Central Manager.
  2. In the upper left-hand of the Central Manager, select the drop-down arrow and change to 'Hoster' View.

  1. Go to Administration -> Organizations.

  2. Go to the organization to decrease the number of licenses.

  3. Select the edit button towards the right side of the row.

  4. The Organization Details will pop up:

  5. Decrease the capacity of the workstations, servers, or IoT devices to the ones that fit the needs and select 'Save'.

  6. A pop-up for Threat Hunting Repository will pop up, and it is possible to select 'Continue'.

  7. Select the 'edit' button on the organization to increase the number of licenses and take note that there are more licenses available (in this case, two licenses are removed from 'vmtest', and it is possible to increase this organization by two licenses).

  8. Select 'Save'. The license has been relocated to a different organization.

     

  9. A pop-up for Threat Hunting Repository will pop up, and it is possible to select 'Continue'.

  10. Select the 'edit' button on the organization to increase the number of licenses and take note that there are more licenses available (In this case, two licenses are removed from 'vmtest', and it is possible to increase this organization by two licenses).

  11. Select 'Save' and the license has been relocated to a different organization.

     

 

Note:

In the latest FortiEDR 6.2.6 and 7.x versions, Workstations and Servers licenses are unified into a single 'endpoints' license. There is no need to designate a specific number of licenses for each type of device. The 'endpoints' license applies to both Workstations and Servers, and the end client can use them interchangeably. The new endpoints license will show as in the example below.
