Solution
- License expiration date is available from Administration- > Licensing tab:
License Expiration Timeline
- 30 Days Before Expiration: Users receive notifications alerting them about the upcoming license expiration.
- Grace Period (30 Days After License Expiration Date): The environment remains active and Collectors will continue to connect to the Manager, however no form of protection or functionality is guaranteed.
- Post-Grace Period (After 30 Days of Expiration): The environment is decommissioned and deleted and Collectors become disconnected and will no longer communicate with the console.
Collector Removal After Environment Deletion:
- Removing a collector requires the registration password found in Administration → Tools, under Component Authentication and Advanced Password Management.
- Since console access will no longer be available after decommissioning, ensure that all registration passwords are documented beforehand, allowing future uninstallation.
FortiEDR emphasizes the importance of timely engagement with the sales team or sales representative to prevent unnecessary environment decommissioning. Proactive communication ensures seamless operations and continued protection.
