Description This article describes how to manage the FortiDLP Browser Extension if enforced via GPO.
Scope FortiDLP.
Solution

To monitor web traffic, the FortiDLP Agent utilizes browser extensions.

The FortiDLP agent installs browser extensions automatically on startup. However, in environments where browsers are managed via Group Policy (or another method), additional steps may be required to configure this correctly.

Google Chrome:

In the Group Policy Object for Chrome, the FortiDLP Agent Browser Extension needs to be part of the 'ExtensionInstallForcelist'. This will ensure the browser extension is installed correctly in these environments.

The FortiDLP Agent extension webstore ID is:

gbojkjpincgojijodbnliimgeggnomai

For more details on how to do this, refer to 'Managing Extensions in the Enterprise' documentation from https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/9296680 currently in section 3B, under 'Force Install an Extension'.

Firefox:

Similar to Chrome, it is necessary to add the browser extension to the allowed list.

The ID of the Firefox extension is:

browser-extension@jazznetworks.com

More on adding this to the allow list can be found in Mozilla's documentation here:

https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates#extensionsettings

Microsoft Edge:

The ID of the Edge extension is:

ngpldaehnklbpdkphcjafbhajnklkiki

More on adding this to the 'allow list' can be found in this Microsoft document:

Manage Microsoft Edge extensions in the enterprise
