Technical Tip: FortiConverter Obfuscator Tool to Substitute Confidential Information on FortiGate Configuration

Description	This article describes the need to double-check the configuration for confidential information when using FortiConverter to obfuscate confidential information in the FortiGate configuration.
Scope	FortiConverter, FortiGate.
Solution	FortiConverter Obfuscator tool can substitute confidential information in the FortiGate configuration before uploading to the ticket. The installer is downloadable at Product Downloads | Fortinet Product Downloads | Support. Open FortiConverter and navigate to Obfuscator, browse the Source Configuration, and select Obfuscate Config.   Open the converted config using a text editor such as Notepad and double-check the configuration. Keep in mind that some confidential information might still be visible because it was used as an object's name, alias, etc. as shown in the following image:
