Solution

When using FortiClient for Chromebooks, it is possible to experience the following error when the web filter category is not set to block:

If a client searches for something and the results include a banned page, the results are not displayed, and the client only receives a denied or blocked page. Crosh is just closed and no indication.

 

To fix this issue, disable 'Preload pages' in Chrome -> Settings -> Performance -> Preload Pages and toggle it off:

Turn off the network prediction feature within the browser's settings from Google admin under Devices -> Chrome -> Settings -> Users & Browsers -> Network Prediction and set it to 'Do not predict network actions'.
