Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot the 'Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services' message when performing the FortiClient EMS upgrade:

Scope

FortiClient EMS v7.0 and v7.2 above. When the EMS installer is already 'Run as Administrator' in admin privileges.

Solution
  1. Check User Rights: Verify that the user account has the necessary permissions to install system services. This can be checked by:
  • Open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy.
  • Navigate to Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment -> Log on as a service.

  1. Check if the Administrator account is listed here, if not, select Add User or Group, select the particular user or Administrator, and select OK.
  2. Attempt to upgrade FortiClient EMS again by 'Run as Administrator', or the particular user account added in step 2.
