Description This article describes what to do if the software inventory list is not showing up in EMS.
Scope FortiClient EMS.
Solution

To resolve the issue if the software inventory is not showing up in EMS:

  1. Check the EMS license type. Only the EPP license type will include the software inventory feature. If another type of license is in use, such as ZTNA, FortiSASE, or FortiGuard Endpoint Forensics Analysis, this feature will not be available in FortiClient EMS. Refer to this document: Windows, macOS, and Linux licenses
  2. If the license has been confirmed to be of type EPP, please check the system settings profile in the EMS console by navigating to: EMS Console -> Endpoint Profiles -> System Settings -> Endpoint Control, select 'Send Software Inventory', make sure that the 'Send Software Inventory' option is selected to enable the feature.

Installed software may be viewed as follows under EMS Console -> Software Inventory, choose 'Applications' or 'Hosts'.

The 'Application' view displays all applications installed across all endpoints, while the 'Hosts' view filters the result to show only the applications installed on a specific host.
