Description This article describes what to check when the option 'Show VPN before logon' is not visible on the endpoint after synchronizing with FortiClient EMS.
Scope FortiClient v7.4.x.
Solution

To resolve the issue, check the following items:

 

  1. Ensure that the Show VPN before logon option is enabled on the remote access profile

  1. Open the command prompt, run the command 'netplwiz' on the endpoint, and check if the checkbox for Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer is selected.

  1. If not selected, change the value of the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device\DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion from 2 to 0
