Description This article describes the issue of missing VPN connections from the FortiClient task bar icon (FortiTray) context menu after upgrading FortiClient from 7.4.3 or below to 7.4.4.1887, and provides a step-by-step solution to resolve it. The issue occurs when the IPsec section is not enabled in the endpoint profile on FortiClient/EMS.
Scope FortiClient/EMS with FortiClient version 7.4.4.1887.
Solution

To resolve the issue of missing VPN connections from the FortiClient FortiTray icon's context menu, follow these steps:

  1. Go to FortiClient/EMS -> Endpoint Profile -> Remote Access.
  2. Select the IPsec VPN section. Enable the IPsec VPN section without configuring any IPsec tunnels.
  3. Save the changes and wait for the configuration to sync.

Troubleshooting
  1. Set the logging level to Debug in the EMS endpoint profile.
  2. Reproduce the issue by opening and closing the FortiTray icon a few times.
  3. Collect diagnostics and provide them to Fortinet support for further assistance if needed.

Note: Enabling the IPsec section in the endpoint profile should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, open a Fortinet TAC support ticket for further troubleshooting. Be sure to provide the diagnostics from FortiClient, and refer to bug ID 1192332 in the support ticket.
