Description This article describes how to resolve the issue when '$null' notification box pops up while connecting to IPsec VPN using FortiClient from Windows PC.
Scope FortiClient Windows.
Solution

When importing configuration from MACOS FortiClient to Windows FortiClient, it is possible that users get "$null" notification box along with 'Accept' and 'Disconnect' options as shown in below image. Migrating a MacOS FortiClient configuration file to a Windows FortiClient is not supported as the configuration files for both versions have differences in terms of supported options and settings.

Despite the unclear message prompt, users are able to connect successfully after accepting this notification.

In order to remove this notification prompt , first remove the IPsec VPN tunnel configuration and replace it with a new IPsec VPN connection in FortiClient with the required settings, or ideally import the configuration from a Windows FortiClient instead of using a MacOS FortiClient configuration.
