Description

This article describes how to resolve an error 'The individual invitation code is used” that shows on FortiClient when attempting to connect FortiClient Telemetry with EMS' by using an invitation code.

Scope

FortiClient v7.0, v7.2, EMS (on-prem and Cloud)

Solution

After entering the invitation code, FortiClient Telemetry is unable to connect to EMS and throws the error 'The individual invitation code is used' as shown below:

To verify, check the output of the following FortiClient diagnostic debug (FortiESNAC log):

Checking the Invitations section of the EMS GUI will show that the desired invitation code has been used by the other user. The individual type can only be used by a single user at a time.

To solve the issue:

Create a new invitation code and select Bulk as the type, then select Save.

Copy the newly created Bulk invitation code to be used by multiple FortiClient users to connect to EMS again. Now, FortiClient Telemetry should connect to EMS successfully.
