Description

This article describes how to resolve an error 'The invitation code expired' that shows on FortiClient when attempting to connect FortiClient Telemetry with FortiClient EMS by using an invitation code.

Scope FortiClient v7.0, v7.2., EMS (on-prem and Cloud).
Solution

After entering the invitation code, FortiClient Telemetry is unable to connect to EMS and throws the error 'The invitation code expired' as shown below:

To verify, check the output of the following FortiClient command:

Checking the Invitations section of the EMS GUI will show that the desired invitation code has expired.

To solve the issue:

  • Edit the desired invitation code to uncheck the Expiring and select Save.

  • Copy the invitation code, which can be used by FortiClient to connect to EMS again. FortiClient Telemetry should connect to EMS successfully.
