Technical TipHow to manually trigger EMS to download official FortiClient installer

Description This article describes how to manually trigger EMS to download official FortiClient installer.
Scope FortiClient EMS.
Solution

Sometimes, EMS does not download the official FortiClient installer locally. So it is possible to manually trigger the download and see if there are any issues.

 

  1. Open command prompt as admin.

  1. Go to EMS default installation folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\FortiClientEMS and run the command 'FcmUpdateDaemon.exe -e' to trigger the download.

  1. If the update is successful, the output will appear as below:

 

DoUpdate, Signature/Engine download result - Update Success
ThreadUpdate, Update Result - Update Success

  1. Go to the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\FortiClientEMS\Installers\official. The official installer folders are there.
