Technical Tip: FortiClient limitations and features

Description	This article describes limitations and features in FortiClient
Scope	FortiClient v6.x, v7.2.x, v7.4.x and above.
Solution	Free FortiClient will offer only the basic VPN features. (AV and other features are no longer present). See this document: FortiClient standalone and licensed version feature comparison for further information.   Feature overview: Basic IPSec & SSL VPN (pre-shared key & cert-based authentication). Split Tunnel. 2-factor authentication using FortiToken.  Features not supported with free FortiClient: VPN auto-connect/always-up. on-net/off-net. VPN before logon. Tickets can be reported by users for VPN issues with a FortiGate serial number managed by the FortiOS team. The user should be informed that there is no technical Support for a free FortiClient. The issue will be investigated from the FortiOS side, but if the problem is found with the client side, the user must be informed to upgrade to a paid version for support to be provided. There is no Technical support for a free user from any Support Team. Note:  FortiClient v7.4.4 does not include a free VPN-only agent. As a result of this, the 'Remote Access' option will not be visible.
