Description This article describes how to delete/clear log records of the FortiClient endpoint installed in a Windows PC.
Scope FortiClient.
Solution
  1. If the FortiClient endpoint is connected to EMS by telemetry, such telemetry be disconnected first as below:

In some cases, it will be asked a password to be able to disconnect, EMS administrator can provide such a password.

 

  1. 'Right-click' on the FortiClient icon in the taskbar and select shutdown.

  1. Locate the FortiClient installation folder (default path is C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\logs).

  1. IT is now allowed to clear all or specific logs in such folder.


Note:

The endpoint must connect by telemetry to EMS to create new logs, in some cases, a reboot of the PC will do it. FortiClient log records will be overwritten when reach the file size limit.
