FortiClient v6.2 and above.
Solution
Free FortiClient for v6.2:
- This will be a free VPN only installer with basic VPN features. AV and other features are no longer present.
Feature overview:
- Basic IPSec & SSLVPN (pre-shared key & cert-based authentication).
- Split Tunnel.
- 2-factor authentication using FortiToken.
Tickets can be reported by customers for VPN issues with a FortiGate serial number managed by the FortiOS team. The customer should be informed about how there is no technical Support for a free FortiClient.
The issue will be investigated from the FortiOS side, but if the problem is found with the client side, the user must be informed to upgrade to a paid version for support to be provided.
*THERE IS NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR A FREE CLIENT FROM ANY SUPPORT TEAM.
Features not supported with Free FortiClient:
- VPN auto-connect/always-up.
- on-net/off-net.
- VPN before logon.
