This article describes FortiClient macOS versions with support for IKEv2 in IPsec and limitations.

 

Scope

 

FortiClient.


Solution

 

v7.4.x (Licensed):

  • Supports IKEv2.
  • Does not support the use of port 500 for IPsec VPN IKE UDP. See Release Notes ID Existing known issues (FortiClient v7.4.1).

v7.4.3+ (Free Version):

  • Supports IKEv2.
  • Does not support IKEv2 over TCP (Free Version is limited to basic configurations)

v7.2.3+:

  • Licensed: Supports IKEv2 for IPsec.
  • Free: Does not support IKEv2 for IPsec. Workaround: Configure the IKE version of the FortiClient IPsec connection in the XML configuration.

v7.2.2 (Free and Licensed) Does not support IKEv2.
