Description | This article describes an error when connecting to a VPN using a FortiClient VPN-only version on a Mac OS. |
Scope | FortiClient VPN, Mac OS. |
Solution |
After installing the FortiClient VPN-only version and giving it full-disk and VPN permissions to both FortiClient.app and fctservctl2, it may end up with an error when connecting to a VPN from FortiClient:
To connect to a VPN with FortiClient, open Security & Privacy Settings and allow system software from FortiTray.
To fix this, go to System settings -> General -> Login item & extensions. Scroll down to extensions select 'i' in front of the network extension and allow the FortiTray.app.
On macOS Sequoia v15.3.1 the prompt to allow the FortiTray, FortiClient packet filter, FortiClient proxy, and FortiClient Network is placed inside under General -> Login Items & Extensions -> Network Extensions. It can be toggled from this location. |
