Description | This article describes how to use the CLI console to change the FortiCloud account linked to the FortiGate. |
Scope | FortiGate. |
Solution |
This method is useful when the incorrect FortiCloud account was used in the FortiGate, instead of the account used for the device registration. Also, it is a good option to move the device from one FortiCloud region to another.
After logging out of the FortiCloud account in the FortiGate Cloud widget, users may sometimes be unable to log in with the correct account. The GUI prevents changes to the email address:
It is possible to change the associated account using the CLI console with the following command:
execute fortiguard-log login <email> <password> <region>
The available regions are: the US, Europe, and Global. If a Region change is needed, just use the same current email and password and change to the preferred Region.
After executing the command, a message saying 'request sent' will appear. The new account should now be linked to the FortiGate and visible in the FortiGate Cloud widget under the Dashboard → Status section.
