Solution

There are two ways to obtain an evaluation copy of FortiClient.

Option 1.
Have a registered Fortinet product, then log in to the Fortinet support portal and select Download -> Firmware Images. Select FortiClient from the product drop-down menu.

The portal will then show the latest available patches per MR or GA release:

Example:
To download a 32-bit standard installer for Windows for the latest v5.2.3 patch, select Windows from the screen shown above, then choose v5.00, followed by v5.2. Enter the 5.2.3 subdirectory and select the file FortiClientSetup_5.2.3.0633.exe.

Note: Read the readme_1st.txt for more complete explanations on .zip .exe packages and their purpose. Furthermore, if 64-bit Windows is used, download a standard installer or package terminating in x64.exe or x64.zip.

Once the appropriate package has been downloaded, run the installation on the local PC. The FortiClient will be in evaluation mode for 90 days.

Once the trial is over, contact Fortinet Reseller for an extension and purchase. If there are any questions, contact Fortinet Technical Support.

Note: Reinstalling FortiClient will not give another 90 days of free antivirus updates or web filtering functionality, or Anti-spam functionality.

Option 2:
Non-registered Fortinet customers can request a product trial at Fortinet, and go to Products -> Endpoint & Mobility -> Download FortiClient Application. Alternatively, downloads are available at FortiClient.

Once the appropriate package is downloaded, run the installation on the local PC. The FortiClient will be in evaluation mode for 90 days.

Once the trial is over, contact Fortinet Reseller for an extension and purchase. If there are any questions, contact Fortinet Technical Support.

Note: Reinstalling FortiClient will not give another 90 days of free antivirus updates or web filtering functionality or Anti-spam functionality.
