Description

 

This article describes why an error message is received on the FortiAuthenticator, while trying to import local users using FortiGate configuration from FortiOS 7.2.

 

Scope

 

FortiAuthenticator 6.4.

 

Solution

 

Importing the local users, using FortiGate backup configuration, an error 'Enter a valid username. This value may contain only English letters, numbers, and the following characters: @ . + - _ & #' is received.

On FortiGate GUI, check-list of created local users.

In the list, see 2 local users with inappropriate names.


'BS=007' and 'Net Admin'.

 

Both users are using characters that are not allowed '=' and 'space'.

 

Reconfiguring both affected users, import Local Users using FortiGate backup configuration.
