Troubleshooting Tip: Troubleshooting '403 Forbidden' Errors in FortiAuthenticator Agent for Windows Login Simulation Tests

Description

This article describes the troubleshooting steps for resolving the 'Verification of user (xxxx) OTP failed: VerifyOTP for user userb failed: 403 Forbidden' error encountered during OTP verification in the FortiAuthenticator Agent for Windows Login simulation test.

Scope

FortiAuthenticator.

Solution

Simulation tests can be done from the Simulation tab, shown in the image below. It is used for the testing of the login process.

Running the simulation test with correct credentials and a valid OTP but still getting the following error, as shown in the image:

'REST API' admin access must be enabled for it to work.

Go to System -> Network -> Interface, select the desired port, and activate 'REST API'.

Now again do the simulation test and it is successful.
