This article describes a way to stop the log entry 'FTM registration id update: External fqdn/IP of system cannot be found. Two-factor authentication over push notification might not work properly.' in the logs on FortiAuthenticator.
FortiAuthenticator v6.6 and higher.
If there is no FTM-push solution implementation and no FQDN/IP specified in the following path, FortiAuthenticator will generate 'FTM registration id update: External fqdn/IP of system cannot be found. Two-factor authentication over push notification might not work properly.' Log in every 5 minutes.
Go under System -> Administration -> System Access -> Public IP/FQDN for FortiToken Mobile.
To stop receiving these logs, specify the applicable FQDN/IP of FortiAuthenticator or just input a random IP: port entry through the above-specified path on FortiAuthenticator. If no port is specified, it will assign port 443 automatically.
After that, the respective logs will not be generated.
Note:
This error can appear as well in the FortiAuthenticator Cloud version; for now, the option Public IP/FQDN for FortiToken mobile is not available.
