Description

This article describes the meaning of the error 'service error' or 'Subscription Required' message for FortiToken Cloud license status.

Scope

FortiAuthenticator, FortiToken Cloud.

Solution

After upgrading to firmware 6.0, notice that there is an additional FortiToken Cloud field under license information in the Dashboard of FortiAuthenticator. On earlier 6.x versions, it may show 'service error', on later versions it shows a clearer message 'Subscription required'.

Note that FortiToken Cloud is not the same as FortiToken Mobile, and it is a separate subscription.

Subscribe to the FortiToken cloud license to avoid the service error message.
If such a service error appears, it can be ignored if no FortiToken Cloud license has been registered.
