This article describes how to troubleshoot issues where the Chart Builder does not save, and throws a 'Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'sql')' error.

Solution

 

To identify the cause of the error, enable browser debugging (Developer Tools for Chrome) and select Preview from the Chart Builder.

The error explains that the URI is too long to query, and there is no SQL query present in the Chart Builder.

To fix this issue, change the Log View page view to 50 or 100.

Proceed to run the Chart Builder again. It will save it into the Dataset.
