Description | This article explains why the wrong firmware version appear when connecting FortiAuthenticator to FortiAnalyzer. |
Scope | FortiAuthenticator, FortiAnalyzer. |
Solution |
This happens because the FortiAuthenticator does not use OFTP when connecting to the FortiAnalyzer, so the information is not known properly.
FortiAnalyzer learns version/build from OFTPD, for this case, FortiAuthenticator uses UDP port 514 to send logs to FortiAnalyzer, so there is no OFTP connection. FortiAnalyzer has no way to get their firmware versions. It is also applied to non-OFTPD sending device products. |
