Description

 

This article describes how to troubleshoot a 'VM license is invalid …' error for an instance configured with a DHCP IP address.

 

Scope

 

FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer Private Cloud v7.4.2 onwards.

 

Solution

 

After uploading a license file from GUI, the prompt 'VM license is invalid because system can not find the matched management IP.' may appear.

  1. Make sure the license IP address in FortiCloud is the same as the VM management network IP address.

  2. Make sure the VM management network interface mode is Static:

     

    config system interface

    edit "port1"

    set mode static

    next

    end
      

     

    Note: 'set mode' is only available in v7.4.2 onwards.

  3. After, download the license from FortiCloud, upload the license to the GUI, and verify the result.
