Description
This article describes how to troubleshoot a 'VM license is invalid …' error for an instance configured with a DHCP IP address.
Scope
FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer Private Cloud v7.4.2 onwards.
Solution
After uploading a license file from GUI, the prompt 'VM license is invalid because system can not find the matched management IP.' may appear.
- Make sure the license IP address in FortiCloud is the same as the VM management network IP address.
- Make sure the VM management network interface mode is Static:
config system interface
edit "port1"
set mode static
next
end
Note: 'set mode' is only available in v7.4.2 onwards.
- After, download the license from FortiCloud, upload the license to the GUI, and verify the result.
