Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot errors when trying to register additional logging licenses to FortiAnalyzer.

Scope

FortiAnalyzer.

Solution

The user may come across the following error message when trying to register an additional logging license for FortiAnalyzer:

Product cannot support more license.

This happens when the purchased FortiAnalyzer logging license contract SKU is not compatible with the existing license that is already applied.

The logging license (GB/Day) tier is as follows:

TIER (GB/DAY)

SKU

1-6 GB/Day

FC1-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

1-11 GB/Day

FC2-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

1-26 GB/Day

FC3-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

1-101 GB/Day

FC5-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

1-501 GB/Day

FC6-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

1-2001 GB/Day

FC7-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

1-unlimited GB/Day

FC4-10-LV0VM-248-02-DD

For example, assuming the FortiAnalyzer has an existing license of 10 GB/Day with the following license contract SKU applied.

  • 1x FC2-10-LV0VM-335-02-DD (Security Automation tier 1-11 GB/Day).

In the event the user wishes to add an additional 10 GB/Day of Logs for a total of 20 GB/Day of Logs,  attempting to purchase and register the same license contract SKU as before will result in the 'Product cannot support more license' error during license registration.

Instead, the following correct license contract SKU should be purchased and registered into the FortiAnalyzer.

  • 1x FC3-10-LV0VM-285-02-DD (FortiCare Elite Support for 1-26 GB/Day).

To check the current logging license (GB/Day) that is applied on the FortiAnalyzer, either login to the FortiCloud portal (https://support.fortinet.com/) and navigate to Asset Management, or run the following CLI command on the FortiAnalyzer CLI console.
