FortiAnalyzer can receive logs and Windows host events directly from endpoints connected to EMS, and you can use FortiAnalyzer to analyze the logs and run reports.

Description This article explains how to change the default admin username and  password.
Scope FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
Solution

1) First, back up the configuration.

2) Change the filename of the saved backup file from .dat to .tgz by renaming it:

3) Install Total Commander.

4) Edit Total Commander settings to use Notepad++ (or another text editor of choice) as the editor.

5) Open the backup .tgz file:

6) Edit the system.conf file.

7) Change the admin name and save the file found in the following location:

 

# config system admin user

edit "admin1"

set password "new_password"

8) Repack the system.conf file by closing the editor application.

9) Navigate to the .tgz root file:

10) Repack the .tgz file:

11) Change the config file extension back from .tgz to .dat by renaming it.

12. Reload the backup file in FortiManager or FortiAnalyzer:
