Description

This article describes how to integrate FortiAnalyzer with SendGrid as an SMTP server.

Scope FortiAnalyzer.
Solution

Pre-requisites:

Create an account in Sendgrid and create a sender.

Steps in Sendgrid:

There are 2 ways to create and link options from Sendgrid.

Option A: Manually create an API key.

  • Create an API Key in SendGrid with full access rights (Save the key generated by SendGrid as it will only be accessible once).

Configuration in FortiAnalyzer :

  1. Use the information generated in the SendGrid:
  • Set the server name to identify it in FortiAnalyzer.
  • Input the server info provided by SendGrid (which was also referred to in the integration section).
  • Set the port (in this case 25 was used for TLS connection, this could change according to requirements).
  • Enable authentication to input the credentials generated in SendGrid.
  • Set the username (the SendGrid page provides this as an API key and can be confirmed in the integration guide section on the Sendgrid page).
  • Set the API key generated by SendGrid as a password when creating the API connector and select 'OK'.
