Description

This article describes how to resolve an issue where an error occurs that prevents a 'Dual 5G' profile from being applied to the FortiAP 831F from the web GUI in versions prior to 7.4.2.

Scope FortiOS v7.2.x and versions prior to v7.4.1, FortiAP.
Solution

This error occurs on FortiAP 831F when changing a profile from Single 5G to Dual 5G.

It looks like this and appears in the lower-right corner, preventing the profile from being applied to the FortiAP:

To resolve this issue, update FortiOS to version 7.4.2 or higher.

This was a known bug (973935) and was fixed from version 7.4.2 onwards. See FortiGate 7.4.2 resolved issues.

Workaround:

Apply the Profile from the CLI:

config wireless-controller wtp

    edit "serial_number_of_the_FAP"

        set wtp-profile "name_of_the_profile_to_apply"

    next

end
