Description This article describes how to avoid FortiAP-W2 models being unable to downgrade on firmware version 7.4.4.
Scope FortiAP-W2 models.
Solution

There are situations where a firmware version update is required. Before proceeding with this action, it is necessary to check the issues that are solved by the version to which we will upgrade the FortiAP-W2.

Firmware version 7.4.4 has a particular restriction: once this version is installed, a downgrade to previous versions can no longer be done in any way. This is in order to protect the wireless calibration data, and this version checks the system partitions.

If there is a particular issue but the intention is to downgrade the FortiAP-W2 at some point, upgrade until version 7.4.3 so it will allow for future downgrades.
